About the Gala

The Long Island Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC-LI) will host its fourth-annual Building Green Long Island Gala at 6:00pm on May 24, 2011 at the Long Island Marriott and Conference Center in Uniondale.

The evening will feature an extended cocktail reception, perfect for networking, followed by dinner and the honoree awards presentation.

USGBC-LI will honor Richard Kessel, President and CEO, New York Power Authority and Jack H. Kulka, P.E., LEED AP, President of Kulka Construction for their notable accomplishments within the green building sector on Long Island.

All funds raised from the event will support the USGBC-LI's mission to improve our quality of life by improving the quality of the structures we build, and the environment in which we all live, work, and play by engaging businesses, developers, municipalities and individuals to be part of the process.  The organization funds multiple academic scholarships and provides educational programs and events that encourage environmentally sound building practices, products and efficiencies.
